Recognition Awards for Police Officers and Other Valued Service Personnel

Alternatives to Badge Embedments for Police Officer Recognitions

One of our most popular blogs was about recognition awards for police officers, fire fighters, military service personnel. We had a great response from the law enforcement community.

It made us think of all the other items we have created for this community including the K9 unit. But then, it is not only the police and fire service community that have badges embedded, we have embedded as gifts for retirements or special milestones badges for Canadian Food ServicesCanadian Border ServicesFisheries and Oceans Canada, Special Units, Correctional Officers and more.

Most of the recognition awards for police officers are usually in the form of embedding their police badge as retirement gift. Usually the design is a block or wedge with the badge embedment for the recognition award for the retiring police officer or fire fighter.

New Ideas for Honoring Police Officers

Lately, we have seen a different approach taken to these very personal and memorable gifts for police officers and K9 officers.

Recently, a K9 officer was retiring and we were tasked with embedding his badge – yes, our K9 officers have their own badges – plus a photo of the K9. What a great way to commemorate and honor a fellow officer, even if he is the four legged kind.

Another interesting piece we created was for a career officer.

We embed all of his badges from the beginning of his career to when he retired in a custom block that was given to him as a special retirement gift in recognition of outstanding service to his community.

In my most recent blog, we talked about stuff you can’t embed and fabric is one of those items.

For the retiring Fire Captain who wanted to have his crest embedded with his badge and tips, we designed a custom sandwich that allowed for the encasement of all his mementos of a career well served.

Don’t Wait for Police Officer Retirement – Honor an Entire Division

In fact, law enforcement community members don’t have to wait until they retire to receive recognition. Customized SIGG bottles are an incredible product that can be branded with each police division’s logo to make great recognition awards for police officers. The Hot & Cold SIGG bottles are popular items with organizations; they have an over-sized cup, keep drinks hot for 18 hours and cold for 24 hours. SIGG Hot & Cold bottles are the perfect companion on those long rides through the community or sitting at a desk.

Military Recognition Awards – Challenge Coins Embedded in Lucite

We have embedded challenge coins for the military. Challenge coins are collectible souvenirs for the US and Canadian military. From the earliest days of the tradition, almost every unit has a coin. Carrying one showed membership in a unit. Soldiers would challenge comrades to show their coins; they would have to present their coins or buy a round. If the challenged had their coin, then the challenger had to buy the round. As each unit has a different coin, they are often exchanged and become collectibles between the different divisions of the military.

Honoring our Service Personnel with Unique Recognition Gifts

Designing and creating unique retirement gifts or recognition awards to celebrate dedicated service is meaningful to the team at Clearmount.

As our tagline says: “Lucite is the only embedment product that captures the moment forever.” These pieces are integral parts of the person’s working life and they have carried this badge or other items such as their crests and tips every day they left their home to serve and protect their community. It is important that this reminder of their life’s work is proudly displayed and associated with their identity as a person and what they have achieved in their careers.

How can we help your organization honor and recognize the men and women who serve and protect our communities?
